LawTree Club aims at giving everyone a platform to talk on the issues currently being debated in India as well as those being debated internationally. For this objective to be fulfilled, we welcome the submission of original articles, research papers, or book reviews on the aforesaid lines. Additionally, we may also solicit contributions. Please refer to the instructions for Authors section below before submitting an article.
LawTree Club invites authors to submit manuscripts under the following heads:
SECTION I: Article:
An article is a thorough analysis of current topics/issues currently being debated in India or abroad that could have an impact on India or else. The word limit for articles is between 500 to 2,000 words excluding footnotes for being considered for publication on the website.
SECTION II: Research Paper:
A Research paper should focus on the topic related to law only (if your research paper is on a topic different from law please contact us). The topic may be a current or previously discussed issue that is important to know in the legal profession. For instance, one can write a research paper on Intellectual Property Rights. The minimum word limit for a research paper is 4,000 words for being considered for publication on the website.
SECTION III: Book Reviews:
A book review should focus on either an autobiography authored by a lawyer which could inspire aspirants and practitioners in the legal field or focuses on a practical issue that is important to know in the legal profession. For instance, a book review on a book that deals with how to bill clients or how to understand a judge’s mind, etc. The word limit for a book review is between 1,500 to 2,500 words for being considered for publication on the website.
MODE OF PUBLICATION
LawTree Club will procure contributions for the website in the form of Articles, Research Papers, or Book Reviews in the following ways:
We would seek to invite contributions from eminent luminaries, academicians, practitioners, students and scholars on a prior notified topic.
We will accept rolling submissions for its forthcoming issues as per the following guidelines.
- All articles, research papers, or book reviews submitted should be typed in font- Times New Roman with font size- 12, line spacing -1.5′; alignment- Justified.
- Footnotes cited in the manuscript should be typed in font- Times New Roman with font size- 10, line spacing- 1′; alignment- Justified.
- Citations should be in the form of footnotes and a proper list of references and bibliography should be present; every references and citation should be done in Bluebook 20th Edition style format.
- The document should have a table of contents/index defining any headings and sub-headings present.
- The articles, research papers, or book reviews should be submitted online in an MS – Word format document with your details in the eMail body to firstname.lastname@example.org.
REVIEW OF ARTICLES, RESEARCH PAPERS, OR BOOK REVIEWS:
The articles, research papers, or book reviews submitted for publication in LawTree Club Website should be an original work of the author and should have not been published previously or currently is submitted for publication in any electronic or print media. The author will be responsible for the accuracy of the statement of facts, opinions or views stated in the submitted manuscript. In case of any plagiarism found in the contents of the submitted manuscript, the manuscript will be rejected; maximum plagiarism accepted will be 15%. The final discretion as to the acceptance of the manuscript rests with the Board of Editors of LawTree Club.
There may be a peer review of each article submitted to the Board of Editors for publications by eminent scholars in the field of the designated topic on which the article, research paper, and book review are focusing as part of the selection process for publication in the forthcoming issue. However, the same is subject to the discretion of LawTree Club.
The manuscripts published by LawTree Club are the Intellectual Property of the Website. However, for non-commercial purposes, the use of published material is not prohibited. Proper intimation and permission of the Board of Editors are required.
The views expressed in the articles, comments and all other contributions in any other form to the LawTree Club are those of the individual authors and not necessarily of the Board of Editors of LawTree Club. The contributors by submitting any contribution towards LawTree Club agree to indemnify LawTree Club from and against all claims, suits, and damages based on any claim of copyright infringement or plagiarism or unauthorized use.
