Let’s Explore The Art:

According to precise historians, Art cannot be defined. Art is described as Aesthetics in the branch of philosophy. Not less than, what Wikipedia affirms. In obedience to Wikipedia, “The historians and philosophers of art had long classificatory disputes about art regarding whether a particular cultural form or a piece of work should be classified as art”. Over a few centuries, concept however has been changed. In my opinion, art should be measured in human proportions: art which whispers and never shout, art that took me and flies and never smush. I admit that some of the modern art is also captivating e.g. mural art or abstract art inclusive of spring of colors.

Art as the expression of the mind:

Art can express our thoughts, sensations, intuition, and aspiration. Intimate concepts that cannot be portrayed through words only, art can describe them imaginably well. Plato remarked, “Art imitates the objects and events of our ordinary life.” It is even more of an illusion than an ordinary experience. On this conjecture, art is at best entertainment or a wild delusion.

Form of arts like painting, drama, music all instigate our emotions. Art can firmly impact our habits and even our personalities. For this impetus, Plato insisted that music along with poetry and drama should be the part of children’s education in his ideal Republic, but should be censored to present, at first only the good. Plato was ultra-inspired by Pythagoras, possibly “The compassion with the devil” is conceivable here. Book VII of his republic (Allegory of the Cave) recited by Plato.

“Imagine prisoners tied up with a bench, facing a deep cave wall. A six-foot wall and a fire are behind them and in between these, actors are performing the puppets. The shadows of the puppets can be seen only. This is their world and they believe it as a reality. Imagine, convicted get free first, they will trip in the dark, then deprive by the fire and will realize that shadows are the copies of the puppets on the wall. They will get more deceive later after the exclusion of the cave and facing the sunlight. After the curtains of blindness disappear they will also observe that puppets are no different than the copies itself. They will now evidently see each of the real things in the world”.

Why has Plato viewed art as a shadow on the wall rather as shining characters of the veracious world outside?

He observed both possibilities. That is why he suggested art as a truth revealer that should be taught to juveniles in the form of music or stories.

Let’s try to place Plato’s philosophy of art into the topical time. People like prisoners tired of their couches, watching videos or programs having irrelevant content or a myth on TV or the internet. Are these myths strong or possess any real existence? Aren’t they diverting from the real facts? Or are they shaping up to our characters? These questions answer oneself. It is a challenging task of modern time to establish free and honest discussions while countering the eristic approach of the media. If Plato’s solution is not convincible but the problem is surely the real one.

Prehistoric Art:

“Art is a lie that makes us realize the truth!”

Pablo Picasso

Art was accorded with writing in the ancient or early times. The art of pre-historic times was recorded from around 30,000 B.C to 400 A.D. Variety of art was created in this extended period. The great civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, and Nomadic Tribes included (Paleolithic, Neolithic, and Bronze Age). The great artwork of Greeks also found in the initial period and also comprised of Chinese Dynasties and the American civilization.

The cultures of those times were responsible for the varied creativity but their purposes strapped them together. As the oral traditions and norms were inducing, art was created to enhance these norms. We can find a distinctive variety of art on even utilitarian substances like bowls, pitchers, and weapons. The art was also often used to exhibit the status of the possessor through decorative objects which ancient art has used persistently in the pre-historic age.

Art of Modern Times:

“Art is ANYTHING you can get away with!”

Andy Warhol

Modern art sprints from the 19th century to the 20th century and the period was extremely preoccupied with almost 100 years. Movements like Cloisonnism, Japonism, Neo-Impressionism, Symbolism, and Expressionism and Fauvism topped up the two decades of the 19th century. More known movements of Art Deco, Harlem Renaissance, and Constructivism acquired 1920 whereas Abstract Expressionism cropped up in 1940.

Halfway to the century, we witnessed more striking styles of art. Pop-art and other styles like Funk and Junk became the benchmark of the 50’s era.

Contemporary Art was considered to emerge in the 1970s which is still imperative to the 21st century. Still, there is a progressing list of few Isms in the world of art like Post-Modernism, Ugly-Realism along with flux in the art of Feminism, Neo-Geo, Multi-Culturalism, and Graffiti Movement, as well as Brit-Art and Neo-Pop were the notable styles of the 1980s. Artwork of Net-Art, Toyism, Artefactoria, and Lowbrow was among the few leading styles of the ’90s time.

Creativity Takes Courage:

“Creativity takes courage” – these beautiful words of Henri Matisse ring true for every artist!

A lot of valiant efforts are required to freely express your brilliance of mind and thoughts and deposit them to the world. Many of the creative minds vanished or diluted from society because of the conservative mindset and societal norms. A true artist certainly finds the liberty from these fears which are aerosolized around them.

Any innovative idea if gets admiration from one end might be criticized from the other, Remember, it is impossible to keep everyone happy on the earth. Hence, most of the minds feel exhausted due to the fear of condemnation.

Take a look around, many of the innovative souls let go of their novelty because they never hold the courage to go beyond their instincts. No matter, who you are, a writer, musician, painter, or actor, there will be no concealing once your work will be recognized. You will face the repercussions if your idea didn’t do well. However, every so often your art might not get any satisfactory comments even after you delivered well.

Keep in mind, everyone should have their sense of judgment. People will judge you, whether your work will be good or bad. You should contain the character of beholding both criticism and appraisal. Indeed, people often judge character regardless of your art, learn to ignore these aliens of the society. To foster the positivity in your mind and become much rebellious to bounce back, even after any defeatist moment in life.

How Does Art Impact Our Minds?

“Art is the journey of a free soul!”

Aleve Oguz

Researchers believe that ingenious pursuit nourishes the brain connections, or mind resilience and eventually avert the memory loss. Through creativity, skillsets can also get improved, which assists to prevent pain and stiffness.

Artistry possesses a mighty positive effect on the human brain. Through visualizing the art human emotions and thoughts find freedom from a bizarre environment, energizing the brain intensely, while the music provides emotional back up to the brain because the human brain contains special circuits to adopt it.

We can say that art influences the motion of the human brain in spectacular ways. It certainly involves enhancing brain wave patterns, nervous system, and can surprisingly raise serotonin levels as well. Art removes the untidiness & rigidity in a human brain which instantly changes the perspective to view the world.

Historical Impact:

In every era or from centuries, historians and philosophers are proving that art can improve thinking and have a definite impact on almost every sphere of life, starting from academic, social, and emotional development. Art can excel in the neural system of the human brain which produces a comprehensive spectrum of benefits, stretching from motor skills to creativity or revamp emotional balance. Hence, art can do wonders for society’s attitude and individual thoughts.

The engagement of fine arts and other various art-related work is open evidence. It shows how art can bring consciousness to the brain while studying. The concept of how the arts and human brain are interacted together, reinforced by the Professor of Art Education & Research, Columbia University through his study, stated that “ Subjects such as Mathematics, Science, and language require complex cognitive and creative capacities that are typical of arts learning”.

Art Affects Consciousness:

In his article on the Natural Blaze website, Jacob Devaney remarked “When you observe a profound piece of art you are potentially firing the same neurons as the artist did when they created it thus making new neural pathways and stimulating a state of inspiration. This sense of being drawn into a painting is called “embodied cognition”.

Art Therapy:

“Creativity is contagious, pass it on!”

Albert Einstein

Art therapy is one of the major advancements in psychiatric treatment and referred by some as “person-centered”. The reflection of actual happenings, feelings, and emotions in an amazing imaginary style of portraying is the nucleus of art. The mind would be the destined place behind the idea of creativity as therapy. Through the catharsis of artwork, our hedonistic world gets purified which results in the correctness of our psychological temperament.

This unusual way of treating the tired minds has somehow overshadowed the treatment with pills, it has now been added as a permanent part in few mental health therapies. According to the American Art Therapy Association “Creative processes of art-making, to improve and enhance the physical, mental and emotional well-being in individuals of all ages.” This therapy possesses “activities involved in artistic expressiveness, enables people to resolve disturbance inside, manage bilateral relations, develop self-esteem, and attain self-confidence.”

Time to Unbind Yourself:

Art affects society by its power to change opinions and translate human experiences.

Has anyone stopped somewhere sometime and contemplate, how many of the people are doing what they desired or dreamed in their life on Earth? Are we really in love with our souls, we first of all need to get humble on ourselves, but then we’ll be tough or at explicit kind of status to help our loved or dearest ones from the apocalyptic thoughts in which life of us is passing as a soul stuck in a cage, shouting every night for redemption and sorrowing at every sunrise for a new world place?

Bring your ears close to me. I need to tell you a secret of clearing the mind’s debris and pour the essence of an abstract nature, like present in a juvenile’s intellect. Welcoming and discovering each color in whatever scenes they observe.

I would suggest you, find a profession which can help you in a way to find that artist you beard once you were a child or the peace which can provide belief to your thoughts. I know, we also have to meet the fatal guidelines of the world norms as we are born here.

Next time when rains come down, the quintessence of petrichor will make us excited or traveling along the meadows experiencing cool zephyr, paraglide our thoughts, our fortune would stay in our hands and will be in a mood of exchanging our fates, written by us only, we will answer the knock finally with gratitude and “let’s welcome the art”.
